Analytical Essay - What should I major in?

I remembered that the first book I have read since I can read is a book about human digestive system. The book told me how food is digested in my body. It is an interesting book that teaches me knowledge that I am always curious in since I was small. To discover how human is structured and how the world is formed have always be my biggest interest. When I have to make decision on what should I major in, I would like to have applied biology as my major for further study. It is hoped that I may study in the area that I am most interested in.

To me, I think that patience, attentiveness and perseverance are the triangle of being a scientist. Without any of them, you may not be able to be a scientist. These three elements are at equal importance in doing experiments. If one of them is missing, it is fatal to us when we are doing experiments.

Accidents are always happened when people do not take notices on small stuff. Being attentive is essential in doing experiments. A little single abnormal reaction may lead to unexpected tragedy. We must keep an eye on the experiment once it is start. Even though it may take a long time to complete an experiment, we must stay patient. If we have a rush mind when we are performing experiments, errors may involved. And these errors maybe fatal. We will face failures in performing experiments. Results may not fit our expectations, and it may upset us. But we should not be stopped by failures. We have to figure out reasons led to failures and keep making improvements on the experiments so as to reach success.

I have been learning piano for about twelve years. Through these years of training, characters like being patient, attentive and perseverance have been well trained up. I believed that these characters do help me to study in science area. Besides, I am a science stream student since secondary four. Through these years of studying, I have a scientific mind that helps me to further study in science area.

After studying biology in the first semester, the interest towards biology has been raised a lot. I would like to further study in this area. To learn more about the microbes, animals, our body structures, and the world’s ecosystem. I am fascinated in all these. I hope that I can have a chance to study in applied biology for studying these interesting topics. And find out more fascinating face of biology.

When I finish my study in University, I would like to be a teacher teaching biology. I am always helpful and have a passion in transferring knowledge to peers and younger generations. Being a teacher have to bear lots of responsibilities. Maybe it is a tough career, it is hoped that I am able to let the younger generations to discover the interesting part of biology and be a knowledgeable person.

It is hoped that I can choose applied biology as my major. Biology is an amazing area. Through studying of biology, I am able to know more about ourselves as well as our world. Actually, lots of nowadays technology is based on the discovery of biology. It is hoped that I can further study biology in the coming years.
